CKNW Kids' Fund
Since 1944, the CKNW Kids’ Fund has been making a lasting difference in the lives of children across British Columbia. What began as a small gesture from a Vancouver radio statio buying holiday gifts for local orphans, grew into a cherished community tradition.
Today, the Fund continues its mission of helping children overcome a wide range of challenges, from medical needs to accessibility support, thanks to the continued generosity of British Columbians.
Now, Tug 6 Coffee Roasters is proud to join that legacy. Through our partnership with the CKNW Kids’ Fund, every bag of Tug 6 Coffee you enjoy helps support children in need. For every bag sold, we donate $0.10 directly to the Fund, turning your daily coffee ritual into a simple yet powerful act of kindness.
For more than 40 years, Kelowna’s Gospel Mission has been a beacon of hope in the community, providing food, shelter, and compassionate care to those experiencing homelessness or hardship. Their work helps people rebuild their lives through support, connection, and dignity.
A few students from Okanagan Bible School offered coffee and conversation to visitors at the Kelowna City Park. By 1985, those students opened a drop-in centre, then a soup kitchen, an emergency shelter, and a thrift store.

Opened in 2019, this beautiful home-away-from-home was brought to life by the generosity of the community and is fully supported by the KGH Foundation. It offers 20 family rooms, shared kitchen and common areas, laundry and more, because being together in difficult times truly makes a difference.

Since 2016, a small breakfast initiative created by three passionate locals has grown into what is now Nourish Cowichan, a volunteer-powered charity supporting thousands of students across 24 schools in the Cowichan Valley.
From their central kitchen, built in partnership with School District 79, the team prepares breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and weekend grocery bags to ensure families have what they need.
With more than 80 volunteers and a mission rooted in compassion, they work every day to make sure no child goes hungry and every child has the chance to thrive.
